The Upper Shores branch of the Ocean County Library, located in Lavallette, will present a series of concerts throughout the coming summer featuring numerous local bands.<\/p>\n

The first, \u201cA Feast of a Voice\u201d with Soprano Sungji Kim<\/strong>,\u00a0 will be presented Tuesday night at 7 p.m.<\/strong> Kim, internationally acclaimed for her artistry, stage presence and \u201cincisive and bright voice\u201d according to a New York Times<\/em> feature, has a vast repertoire that ranges from Renaissance to contemporary songs, including duets for voice and classical guitar that she discovers and premieres. She has performed more than 30 operatic roles worldwide.<\/p>\n

The next concert will feature Rave On<\/strong>, Wednesday, July 9 at 7 p.m.<\/strong> Rave On\u2019s Chris and Anthony specialize in music that influenced rockers such as the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen. \u201cRave On! started in 2009 out of love for Buddy Holly\u2019s and Roy Orbison\u2019s music,\u201d Chris said. \u201cWe felt that this music needs to be kept alive and brought to new audiences.\u201d<\/p>\n

R.B. Express<\/strong> will perform Tuesday, July 22 at 7 p.m.<\/strong> RB Express\u2019s silken vocals and tight rhythms place a special stamp on the music of the 1950s and entertain audiences throughout the Northeastern US, Hawai\u2019i and St. Maarten, and nationally on TV\u2019s Fox and Friends. The band attracts hundreds of Facebook followers.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 7 p.m.<\/strong>, the ‘Strictly 60s<\/strong> band will come to the library for a performance. The Strictly 60s Band delivers high-energy shows filled with passion for the music that defines the Rock generation. Lead singer Joel B, lead guitarist Frank A, keyboardist Charles A, bassist-singer Dennis Hern and drummer-singer John Miller connect with fans through their website, Facebook and YouTube.<\/p>\n

A sing-along with Laurie Gold<\/strong> will be presented Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m.<\/strong> Laurie Gold blends classical, pop and rock influences for a riveting piano program of sing-along covers for which she\u2019s known at libraries, senior centers and many other venues. Laurie features her special brand of music on Instagram, Soundcloud, YouTube and Facebook.<\/p>\n

All of the library’s \u201cSummer Music at the Library” programs are free and open to all ages.
