Preliminary figures show Seaside Park’s beach badge revenue for the 2025 season held steady with the previous year, despite what many other Shore towns have considered a down season due to rainy weekends. The borough may ultimately end up grossing more revenue due to a policy change.<\/p>\n

Councilman Joseph Connor said in-season sales totaled $1,777,428 this year. This figure does not include the pre-season sales from the month of December 2024, which historically generates about $200,000 in revenue. Last season, the borough generated $1,995,299 in revenue inclusive of the previous year’s holiday sales. Assuming approximately the same amount was sold, the figures would be approximately equal.<\/p>\n

“Last year was a banner year,” said Connor. “It was sunny, we even had a drought, and people were going to the beach all the time. This year, the weather was a lot different. We should be right in line, so that was pretty good with how the weather was.”<\/p>\n

Though not reflected in the raw sales numbers, the borough could end up having netted more revenue total since 2025 beach badge sales made via credit card saw the processing fees paid by customers rather than the town. Last year, Seaside Park paid $50,700 in credit card fees, while this year the borough paid zero fees.<\/p>\n

“That\u2019s quite a savings because the fees were passed on to the individuals buying the beach badges,” Connor said.<\/p>\n

It is expected a full report inclusive of the December 2024 sales will be generated soon, he added.<\/p>\n
