Seaside Park police have released their weekly blotter, featuring a sampling of calls to which officers responded over the past week. The total number of calls handled by the department was 107 during the same time period. The blotter appears below:<\/strong><\/p>\n

9\/6<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fire Alarm –<\/strong> Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company responded to the area of 12th and the bay for a fire alarm activation. Officers arrived and did not observe any smoke or fire. Police spoke to the homeowner, and they stated the alarms were set off from burnt food while cooking. The fire department arrived and checked the residence to make sure everything was safe.<\/p>\n

Alarm –<\/strong> Police were dispatched to the area of 10th and Ocean for a burglar alarm activation. Officers arrived and checked the perimeter of the residence and did not observe any signs of forced entry. Doors and windows were found to be secure. It was determined that the alarm was set off in error.<\/p>\n

Disturbance –<\/strong> A caller reached out to police for an incident that occurred while the caller was working as a ride share driver. The incident happened a few hours before it was reported. The caller stated he picked up a male and female in the area of M Street and Ocean. The couple attempted to bring a dog along for the ride and the driver said it was against the ride share company policy to bring an animal. The male initially offered the driver extra cash to drive the dog as well, then began to get upset. The driver stated both subjects appeared to be intoxicated. The male began grabbing the driver\u2019s shirt sleeve and poking him in the shoulder as he was yelling at him. The driver asked them to get out of the vehicle, and he would not be completing their ride. The subjects did exit his vehicle, and the driver left the area. The driver stated he has this incident on his dash cam and would be forwarding it to police. At this time, he just wanted this incident documented.<\/p>\n

9\/7<\/strong><\/p>\n

Open Door –<\/strong> Police responded to a call for an open door on a vacant home on the Ocean Block of 10th Avenue. Officers arrived and located the open door. The residence was checked, and no signs of forced entry were observed and nothing inside appeared to be disturbed. The residence was secured, and the homeowner was notified.<\/p>\n

9\/9<\/strong><\/p>\n

Harassment –<\/strong> A female caller contacted the police department regarding a former boyfriend who showed up at her residence and was continuously knocking on the door trying to get her to speak with him. He left the area when she advised him, she was calling the police. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller and gathered the information needed to generate a report. The subject was advised of her options and she just wished to document the incident and asked for police to try to call the subject to request he stop trying to contact her.<\/p>\n

9\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Down Wires –<\/strong> Police responded to a call for a down wire in the area of 4th and Central Avenue. A cable line had fallen and was wrapped around a power line and was hanging approximately eight feet off the ground. The road was closed by police for safety. JCP&L were advised and an officer stood by until they arrived to untangle the lines and separate them.<\/p>\n

Fraud –<\/strong> Police responded to the area of C Street and Central for a fraud report. The caller reported that a weekly renter had paid by check, and the check bounced and could no longer get in contact with subject who rented the property. Information was gathered to generate a report. This matter is still under investigation.<\/p>\n

First Aid –<\/strong> Police and the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded to a patient that was having a potential cardiac emergency. Officers and EMS arrived and assessed the patient at the scene, and they were transported to Community Medical Center for treatment.<\/p>\n

9\/11<\/strong><\/p>\n

Swimmer in Distress –<\/strong> Police were dispatched to the F Street Beach for a swimmer in distress. Upon arrival, the subject did get out of the water on his own. The male was breathing heavy and had swallowed some water. Tri-Boro First Aid Squad assessed the patient, and he was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment.<\/p>\n

Well Being Check –<\/strong> Police responded to check on a male who was reportedly lying on the sidewalk in the area of M Street and Central Avenue. The subject was rearranging some items in a bag and not causing any problems. The male was asked if he needed any police or medical assistance. He declined both and left on his own. No further police action required.<\/p>\n
