The National Weather Service has continued its wind advisory for the Shore area through midnight, however the coastal flood advisory that has been in effect since yesterday will terminate at 4 p.m. Friday, the agency said, just before high tide occurs locally.<\/p>\n

The east winds that plagued the region yesterday have given way to west winds of 20 to 30 m.p.h. with gusts up to 50 m.p.h., the advisory statement said.<\/p>\n

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects,” the advisory stated. “Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a coastal flood advisory will end Friday at 4 p.m., though the possibility remains for up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. The coastal flood advisory is primarily confined to the back areas of Barnegat Bay. High tide occurs at 7:26 p.m. on Barnegat Bay in Seaside Park and 8:14 p.m. at the Mantoloking Bridge.<\/p>\n

The weather is expected to improve for the weekend, though a chill will be in the air. Saturday will be sunny, with a high near 58. It will remain breezy, however, with a west wind 15 to 20 m.p.h.\u00a0 Sunday will also be sunny, with a high near 58, with winds calming to just 5 m.p.h. from the northwest.<\/p>\n
