It\u2019s that time of the year for the wearin\u2019 of the green, and the St. Patrick\u2019s Day festivities will be kicking off soon at the Upper Shores branch of the Ocean County Library in Lavallette. The library will host \u201cSongs of Ireland: Celtic Music with Charlie Zahm\u201d at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, an announcement said.<\/p>\n

The even will be a \u201cmusical celebration of all things Irish\u201d with singer Charlie Zahm<\/a>. Attendees are encouraged to sing along with the \u201cbeautiful old songs of the Auld Sod, of Dublin City and Molly Malone, of the sea and the shamrock, and many more that make Irish music some of the best in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zahm is one of the most popular soloists at Celtic music festivals, Maritime, and American Traditional music events anywhere east of the Mississippi. He is known to weave music with Scottish and Irish history for his audiences. The event is free, but registration is required for the program.
