Seaside Park has re-started sales of beach badges for the 2026 summer season on its website, as officials said they were hoping pleasant weather spurs a rebound after one year of slightly-reduced revenue.<\/p>\n

The borough began selling badges on its website March 15 through digital sales only<\/a>. With a credit card purchase, a season badge costs $67.45 and a senior badge costs $20.96. A small fee is added to each badge to cover the cost of the card transaction; in-person sales were expected to begin May 2, the same date beachgoers will be able to pick up their badges. Pickups and in-person sales will occur at the N Street bath house, May 2 through June 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily; and June 21 through September 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.<\/p>\n

Beginning June 15, 2026, season beach badges will increase to $70 for the remainder of the season.<\/p>\n

Seaside Park officials said at a council meeting Thursday night that sales slowed a bit in 2025 as compared to a record-breaking season the year prior, largely attributable to weather events.<\/p>\n

“In 2025, the weekends early in the season were horrible,” said Councilman Joe Connor. “Then, in August, there were no beach badge checkers for four whole days. It\u2019s not too bad. We had a banner year in 2024.”<\/p>\n

A hurricane offshore closed beaches for swimming toward the end of the season. In 2025, the borough generated $1,971,947 in badge sales, down slightly from $1,995,299 in 2024. Last season, the borough began adding the cost of credit card transaction fees to digital purchases, which saved as much as $51,000 in fees that would have otherwise been paid by the borough.<\/p>\n
