A seal found stranded on a beach in Lavallette has been released back into the wild after recovering.<\/p>\n

On April 28, the Grey seal made his way back home to the ocean after being released by the Marine Mammal Stranding Center<\/a> in Brigantine. The former patient was admitted in mid-March suffering from a gastrointestinal illness and respiratory infection.<\/p>\n

Now fully-recovered and weighing 79.8-pounds, he was tagged \u201c#14\u201d on his left rear flipper and was returned to the ocean from a quiet stretch of beach in a wildlife refuge that provides the stranding center with space for releases. The Lavallette seal headed back to sea with a friend \u2013\u00a0 a Grey seal found in Atlantic City who was being relocated after a more simple overnight assessment at the stranding center.
