(Photo: Daniel Nee)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Seaside Park Police have released their periodic blotter, representing a number of calls to which the department has recent responded. The total number of calls handled over the last week was 236. <strong>The blotter appears below:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>5\/8<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Officer Request \u2013<\/strong> Police were dispatched to the 22nd Avenue Beach for a group of approximately thirty people who were causing a nuisance and appeared to be bringing wood on the beach to start a bon fire. Officers arrived and spoke to the group of young people and advised them of local ordinances without incident.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>5\/9\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Community Policing \u2013<\/strong> Officers were dispatched to the area of North Avenue and Central to assist a caller who was out of town. The caller requested if an officer could move a package out of sight and the weather until it could be retrieved. An officer arrived and moved the package at the owner\u2019s request.<\/p>\n<p><strong>First Aid \u2013<\/strong> Police and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded to assist a patient who was having trouble breathing. Officers and EMS arrived and assessed the patient at the scene. They were transported to Community Medical Center for further treatment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Animal \u2013<\/strong> Police were dispatched to the area of 10th Lane and Ocean for a dog that got out and was walking on Ocean Avenue. Officers arrived and were able to locate the dog and return the pet to their owner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5\/12<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Keep the Peace \u2013<\/strong> Police responded to the area of Porter and Central Avenue to assist the retrieval of a cell phone after a juvenile took a friend\u2019s phone. Officers arrived and spoke to an adult at the scene and retrieved the phone without incident and returned it to the rightful owner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5\/13<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Suspicious Vehicle \u2013\u00a0<\/strong> While on patrol in the area of K Street and Central Avenue, officers observed a parked vehicle that had been running for an extended period of time. Police checked the vehicle and it was unoccupied. The doors were unlocked and no keys were present. Nothing appeared to have been rifled through, and no signs of forced entry were observed. Police turned the engine off and secured the doors. Officers were able to make contact with the owner, and it was determined that the last person to use the vehicle left it running accidentally.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alarm \u2013<\/strong> Police were dispatched to the area of N Street and Ocean for a burglar alarm activation. Officers arrived and checked the perimeter. No signs of forced entry were observed. All doors and windows were found to be secure. It was determined that the alarm was set off in error.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5\/14<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Officer Request \u2013<\/strong> Police responded to the area of O Street and the Boulevard to take a report for an ongoing issue between household members who were no longer getting along. Officers arrived and spoke to the residents and gathered all the information needed to generate a report. The other roommate was advised to call police to stand by when they retrieve their belongings. All individuals were advised how to sign complaints if they wished to do so.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Well Being Check \u2013<\/strong> Police were dispatched to the area of L Street and the Boulevard for a well being check. The caller stated they could not reach their family member for an extended period of time and were worried about them. Officers arrived and checked the residence. Officers were able to make contact with the male who was fine and did not need any police or medical assistance. The caller was advised of our findings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5\/15<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fire Alarm \u2013<\/strong> Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company responded to the area of L Street and Boulevard for a fire alarm activation. Officers arrived and checked the perimeter of the residence. No smoke or active fire were observed, but the audible smoke alarm was sounding. No one was answering the door, but police were able to make contact with a homeowner through their smart doorbell and were given access to enter the home with the fire company. The fire department checked the residence, and it was found and it was found to be safe. It was determined that the alarm occurred from a faulty smoke detector.
