Patriotic events across three neighboring island communities will mark the Independence Day holiday weekend with bike parades, fireworks displays and a distinctive community bell-ringing ceremony.<\/p>\n

The festivities begin Friday, July 3. In Lavallette<\/strong>, the annual Patriotic Bicycle Parade rolls out from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. along the boardwalk, beginning at President Avenue. Riders of all ages are invited to decorate bicycles, tricycles, wagons or themselves in red, white and blue for the long-standing tradition.<\/p>\n

The weekend concludes Sunday, July 5, in Lavallette<\/strong> with a patriotic concert and fireworks at Centennial Gardens and the gazebo on Bay Boulevard. The USA 250 Patriotic Band performs at 8 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9 p.m. The rain date is July 12.<\/p>\n

Saturday, July 4, features another bike parade in Seaside Park<\/strong>. Participants should line up with decorated bikes, trikes, wagons, baby carriages or themselves at 5th Avenue and bay beginning at 9 a.m. The parade steps off at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 14th Avenue. Homeowners along the route are asked to decorate their properties and play patriotic music.<\/p>\n

Seaside Heights<\/strong> will cap the day with its Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza. The display begins at 9:30 p.m. July 4 and runs approximately 15 minutes from the boardwalk promenade area, visible from beaches and the boardwalk.<\/p>\n

Also on Sunday, Seaside Heights<\/strong> hosts a free \u201cMovies on the Beach\u201d screening of the classic film Jaws. The family-friendly event starts at dusk on the sand at the Fremont Avenue beach entrance, with blankets and beach chairs welcome. Snacks from the boardwalk are encouraged.<\/p>\n
