Ortley Beach singer Tony Corrao will take audiences back to the Big Band Era with a free performance of swing standards and Sinatra classics next week at the Upper Shores library in Lavallette.<\/p>\n

Corrao, who blends classical appeal with modern flair, will use his voice and stage presence to evoke an “era of sophistication and style,” an announcement said. He was selected as a cast member for the Count Basie Theatre\u2019s Sinatra Birthday Bash in 2012 and won first place in the Sinatra Idol competition in Hoboken in 2015.<\/p>\n

The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Upper Shores Branch, a volunteer group that supports library activities, fundraisers and community events. Registration is required. Residents can sign up at tinyurl.com\/BigBandOCL<\/a>, by calling 732-793-3996 or by stopping by the branch. The program is schedule for 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, at the Upper Shores Branch of the Ocean County Library, 112 Jersey City Avenue, Lavallette.<\/p>\n
