So far this year, the borough has generated\u00a0$148,275 in seasonal badge sales, which is $21,000 over last year, Councilwoman Agnes Polhemus said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf this keeps up, hopefully it will be a nice summer,\u201d said Polhemus.<\/p>\n<p>Seaside Heights Mayor Anthony Vaz said the borough\u2019s badge checkers, lifeguards and police officers are ready for the holiday weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is usually an enthusiastic weekend \u2013 different from other weekends \u2013 but we\u2019ll be there in full force,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><div class=\"fb-share-button fcbkbttn_large_button \" data-href=\"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/lavallette-seaside\/2016\/05\/early-beach-badge-sales-up-or-down-depending-who-you-ask\/\" data-type=\"button_count\" data-size=\"large\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A late Memorial Day weekend and rainy, chilly weather has affected early seasonal beach badge sales in one local community, but not another.
