Having faced complaints about the functionality of the borough\u2019s website for some time, officials in Seaside Heights expect a completely new site to debut soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a robust system,\u201d Borough Administrator Christopher Vaz said of the new site, which is being developed by CivicPlus, a firm that specializes in governmental websites. The same firm has designed the sites for resort cities including Gulf Shores, Al.<\/a> and Nantucket, Ma.<\/a><\/p>\n

The new website, Vaz said, will focus on serving residents. It will include modules in which residents can request services from the borough, file paperwork and check meeting agendas before the meeting begins. It will also include an archive of past meeting minutes and agendas. There will also be modules where residents can notify the borough about issues in town, such as a downed street sign or a pothole.<\/p>\n

The website will also bring the borough\u2019s administrative tasks into the 21st century. Vaz said the site will be incorporated into the work employees do every day, digitizing many of the tasks that currently require more man-hours on the part of both borough workers as well as residents.<\/p>\n

Vaz said the new website is on schedule to debut during the second week of July. The site will focus only on the municipal government, while the borough\u2019s tourism website will remain at Exit82.com.<\/p>\n
