{"id":2920,"date":"2016-09-17T18:11:15","date_gmt":"2016-09-17T22:11:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/lavallette-seaside\/?p=2920"},"modified":"2016-09-18T00:09:33","modified_gmt":"2016-09-18T04:09:33","slug":"fbi-joint-terrorism-task-force-investigating-bomb-plot-portion-of-seaside-park-to-remain-off-limits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/lavallette-seaside\/2016\/09\/fbi-joint-terrorism-task-force-investigating-bomb-plot-portion-of-seaside-park-to-remain-off-limits\/","title":{"rendered":"FBI: Joint Terrorism Task Force Investigating Bomb Plot; Portion of Seaside Park to Remain Off-Limits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div class=\"ose-youtube ose-uid-8e4aee258101b28061b4e22d241c6b08 ose-embedpress-responsive\" style=\"width:600px; height:550px; max-height:550px; max-width:100%; display:inline-block;\" data-embed-type=\"Youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" width=\"600\" height=\"550\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gYvlj8z25w0?feature=oembed&color=red&rel=0&controls=1&start=&end=&fs=0&iv_load_policy=0&autoplay=0&mute=0&modestbranding=0&cc_load_policy=1&playsinline=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; encrypted-media;accelerometer;autoplay;clipboard-write;gyroscope;picture-in-picture clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen referrerpolicy=\"origin\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/p>\n<p>The Federal Bureau of Investigation and its Joint Terrorism Task Force is leading the probe into\u00a0Saturday&#8217;s\u00a0bomb plot on the Seaside Park boardwalk.<\/p>\n<p>At a press conference,\u00a0Brad\u00a0Cohen, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the FBI&#8217;s office in Newark, did not shed any additional light on the details of the incident \u2013 including how many devices were found \u2013 but said federal and state agencies would be leading the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re working together to conduct a through investigation to find out who is responsible at this time,&#8221; Cohen said. &#8220;We&#8217;re out there conducting interviews, we&#8217;re out there securing evidence, and we&#8217;re making sure there is no stone left unturned.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Those who live in the area of the blast \u2013 which was reportedly a pipe bomb hidden in a garbage can \u2013 at D Street and the boardwalk, is being asked to stay out of the area that is specifically the subject of the investigation &#8220;to allow law enforcement to render the area safe and collect evidence,&#8221; Cohen said.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information on the incident is being asked to call 1-800-CALL-FBI and select option one.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is an active investigation,&#8221; said Cohen.<\/p>\n<p>Seaside Park residents who were displaced during the investigation were allowed back in their homes as of 6 p.m. Residents\u00a0of ahe area of C Street, D Street and E Street on\u00a0the ocean blocks will need to present identification to officers to access their streets.
