(Click to Enlarge)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Ocean County Prosecutor&#8217;s and officials with the Provident Bank are warning New Jersey residents of an alleged scam being perpetrated by a company supposedly offering alternatives to foreclosure after a Brick resident received a fraudulent letter.<\/p>\n<p>The company&#8217;s return phone number on the notice from Foreclosure Fraud Prevention, 1 Bridge Plaza, Fort Lee, NJ, does not match that of the company, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor&#8217;s office.<\/p>\n<p>Recently Provident Bank received the information from the Brick resident who received the &#8220;Foreclosure Final Notice Letter.&#8221;\u00a0 Bank officials quickly advised the resident that the notice was false and that Provident bank had no relationship with the sender.\u00a0 The bank\u2019s research found the telephone numbers shown do not appear to be registered to the sender of the notice and when placing a call to the numbers shown, the call goes directly to voicemail.<\/p>\n<p>Officials with the Provident Bank sent notice of the alleged fraud activity to the prosecutor&#8217;s office and the NJ Department of Banking and Insurance in order to prevent unsuspecting homeowners from possible financial harm and false conveyance of their property, Della Fave said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Protect yourself and never accept anything as true without doing your homework,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone in the Ocean County area who has received the attached notice should contact the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office at 732-929-2027 or Provident Bank at 732-590-9200.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><div class=\"fb-share-button fcbkbttn_large_button \" data-href=\"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/lavallette-seaside\/2015\/08\/ocean-county-homeowners-warned-of-foreclosure-scam\/\" data-type=\"button_count\" data-size=\"large\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ocean County Prosecutor&#8217;s and officials with the Provident Bank are warning New Jersey residents of an alleged scam being perpetrated by a company supposedly offering alternatives to foreclosure after a Brick resident received a fraudulent letter.
