Casino Pier in Seaside Heights will host its annual free Holiday Festival on Saturday, with contests, prizes and plenty of fun.<\/p>\n

The festival is free and is open to all families with children, said Maria Mastoris, marketing manager for the pier.<\/p>\n

“Don\u2019t forget to wear your ugly sweater for our Ugly Sweater Contest!” she said.<\/p>\n

At the end of the festival, staff will choose the worst holiday sweaters and give out Casino Pier & Breakwater Beach prizes. The event starts off with arts and crafts for all the kids to exhibit their artistic skills. They will then be making Frozen\u2019s Olaf Sock Snowman and Bird Feeders for the children to take home and hang in their back yard to feed the birds.<\/p>\n

Following crafts, the kids will be welcomed with a \u201cHo, Ho, Ho\u201d from Santa as he strolls in for pictures and to join the fun. Next, pier staff will test how well the children can be penguins, as they waddle with their feet tied together while trying to balance \u201csnow\u201d on a spoon! After that, the pier will host its traditional Pin the Nose on Rudolph and Candy Cane Limbo to test the kids\u2019 flexibility and balance. Kids will try to get presents through the wreath during Wreath-Ket-Ball to warm up their arms for the indoor snowball fight which follows.<\/p>\n

The celebration will also include the Carousel Parade \u2013 always a great “Kodak moment,” said Mastoris. All kids get a free ride on the carousel with Santa and Slider. All are invited to the free event and everyone can always stick around to play in the arcade following the event. The arcade is open all year long, Friday through Monday, in the offseason.<\/p>\n

Pier staff will be accepting non-expired canned food donations for the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Please bring a canned good to be donated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The event will be held Saturday, Dec. 3 from 12 noon to 3 p.m. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
