Paving projects are planned for three streets in Lavallette, one of which is set to begin this week.<\/p>\n

The borough council on Monday submitted its annual paving fund request to the state Department of Transportation. Traditionally, Mayor Walter LaCicero said, the town submits two streets to the state and one receives funding. The next year, the “number two” street receives the top request.<\/p>\n

This year’s requests are for Bryn Mawr Avenue, in the first spot, and Philadelphia Avenue, in the second spot. Therefore, it is expected Bryn Mawr will be paved this year and Philadelphia the following year.<\/p>\n

Paving is expected to begin this week, LaCicero said, on Elizabeth and Dovers avenues.<\/p>\n
