The construction workers with Weeks Marine, the federal government\u2019s contractor on the project, use front loaders and bulldozers to take a mountain of sand pumped to shore through a networks of pipes and, in a slow-but-steady fashion, spread it evenly to create a perfectly-sized beach.<\/p>\n<p>After the sand is spread, surveys are conducted from sea and land to make sure the beach is the exact size the contract calls for. After the sand is spread, beach entrances are constructed diagonally to ensure there is a dune both in front of, and behind, the pathway.
