Most candidates for positions on island towns\u2019 school boards are running unopposed, according to a list of candidates who filed to run by Monday night\u2019s deadline.<\/p>\n

In Lavallette, where there are two seats up for grabs, Elizabeth D\u2019Aloisio, of Grand Central Avenue, and Michael Valeri, of Dickman Drive, are running unopposed. Both are incumbents and currently serve as vice president and president, respectively.<\/p>\n

In Seaside Heights, a single seat available will be sought by the incumbent, Peter James Smith, of Bay Boulevard. Smith is running unopposed. In Seaside Park, likewise, two incumbents are running unopposed.\u00a0June Korzeneski, the current board president, and\u00a0Michelle Miller will seek to retain their seats.<\/p>\n

There are also six candidates for two seats on the Toms River Regional Board of Education (see separate story<\/a>), six candidates for three seats on the Brick Township Board of Education (see separate story<\/a>) and two candidates running unopposed for seats on the Point Pleasant Beach school board.<\/p>\n
