A sex offender is behind bars after allegedly failing to register a change of address, the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office said Monday.<\/p>\n

Robert Hudson, 40, of Seaside Heights was arrested by detectives from the Seaside Heights Police Department on a charge of failure to comply with the terms of New Jersey\u2019s sex offender registry.\u00a0In this instance, Hudson moved from his last known address without registering or notifying any law enforcement agencies, the prosecutor\u2019s office said. Hudson is currently lodged in the Ocean County Jail.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy office, in conjunction with local police departments will be vigilant in making sure individuals required to register under Megan\u2019s Law are in compliance with their obligations\u201d Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Since 1994, Megan\u2019s Law requires certain offenders to register with their local police departments whenever they move and\/or change their residential address. Failure to comply with this obligation is a third degree crime.<\/p>\n

Anyone with relevant information regarding this case or others violating Megan\u2019s Law requirements should contact Detective John Argento of the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office at 732-929 2027 ext. 2903. The information may be given anonymously.<\/p>\n
