(Photo: Daniel Nee)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Summer isn\u2019t even here yet, but it\u2019s shaping up for be a banner season for Lavallette.<\/p>\n<p>Beach badge sales, which were expected to rise due to the borough\u2019s newly-expanded beaches and crossovers, are eclipsing record territory as Lavallette prepares to begin guarding beaches in a few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeason badges alone actually eclipsed the total of this point last year,\u201d said Councilman Michael Stogdill.<\/p>\n<p>To date for the 2019 season, the borough has sold $574,620 in badges, of which $506,000 have been seasonal beach badges. At this same point last year, all badges and permits for the season stood at $427,445. In 2017, the total by this time was $407,300.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll be ready to go on Father\u2019s Day weekend,\u201d said Stogdill.<\/p>\n<p>Guards will begin protecting beachgoers the weekend of June 15 and 16.
