Ortley Beach will maintain its lifeguard staff for the three weekends following the Labor Day holiday \u2013 the first time Toms River officials have kept guards on duty after the unofficial end of summer.<\/p>\n

Lifeguards will be present on weekends only, through Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m., weather permitting. Restrooms will be open daily. On weekends, seasonal badges will continue to be honored and daily badges will continue to be sold.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith some schools starting remote learning next week and many parents continuing to work from home, the township council and I decided that it would make sense to keep our beaches open through September 27th,\u201d said Mayor Maurice \u201cMo\u201d Hill. \u201cWe hope our residents and visitors will take advantage of our beaches and enjoy some beautiful September weather.\u201d<\/p>\n
