The growing second wave of the coronavirus pandemic has led Seaside Heights officials to shut down the municipal building until further notice, the borough announced Sunday night.<\/p>\n

“We continue to respond internally to COVID-19 and are following CDC guidelines,” the announcement said. “We apologize for any inconvenience.”<\/p>\n

The closure will affect this week’s reorganizational meetings for the planning board<\/a> and borough council<\/a>, to be held Jan. 4 and Jan. 6, respectively, and both will be streamed via Zoom. There will be no in-person attendance.<\/p>\n

While the closure is in effect, residents are urged to use the drop box in the outer lobby or the online payment portal for property tax, water\/sewer, and electric payments. The Public Works Department remains open and is not impacted by the closure of Borough Hall.<\/p>\n

Anyone who wishes to speak with staff from the Borough Clerk’s Office, Code Enforcement, or Construction Office should call the main line at 732-793-9100 and the person who answers will forward your call or message to staff that are standing by off-site.<\/p>\n
