Toms River firefighters had to extricate a Seaside Park man from a vehicle following a three-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday.<\/p>\n

According to Toms River police spokesman Ralph Stocco, police, EMS and fire units responded to a three vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 37 and Coolidge Avenue at about 7:10 a.m. Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Kim Douglas, 34 of Toms River, was traveling West on Route 37 in a 2013 Dodge Caravan when she drove into the back of another vehicle that was stopped at a red traffic signal, Stocco said. Douglas struck a 2015 Toyota Corolla driven by Michael Carlo, 32, of Seaside Park. Carlo\u2019s vehicle was then pushed forward into a 2015 Nissan Rouge that was being operated by 32-year-old Edward Brick, from Bick Township.<\/p>\n

Carlo, the Seaside Park resident, needed to be extricated from his vehicle by fire rescue units as a result of the extensive damage to his car. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of head injuries, Stocco said.<\/p>\n

The crash is still under investigation by Officer Kenneth Thomas. Toms River Fire Companies \u00a0No. 1 and \u00a0No. 2 responded along with fire units from East Dover and Island Heights. MONOC Paramedics and the Silverton Volunteer First Aid Squad treated Carlo for his injuries.<\/p>\n
