(Credit: Google Maps)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A plan to develop a plot of land off Route 9 with 150 apartments, a restaurant with a drive-through lane, and a strip mall has been proposed and will be taken up by the Toms River planning board next week.<\/p>\n<p>According to documentation filed by the developer, Dover Shopping Center Associates, also known as Riverview Plaza, the lot \u2013 located at the corner of Route 9 and Clayton Avenue \u2013 will be developed in three phases. The first phase will consist of 150 \u201ctownhouse-style\u201d apartment units with a clubhouse and pool. The second phase would be the construction of a 3,140 sqaure foot drive-through restaurant pad, and the third would be the 13,890 square foot strip mall.<\/p>\n<p>The property, which the developer already owns, measures about 23 acres. It falls in the Rural Business Highway Zone, and a use variance is not being requested.
