(Photo: Daniel Nee)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A Toms River Regional student from one of the district\u2019s high schools has been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation after a threat of some kind was apparently posted on the social media platform Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>The student, nor his school, were identified. Police spokesman Ralph Stocco said\u00a0the Toms River Police Department was made aware of an Instagram social media posting alluding to a \u201cviolent act.\u201d The post was made Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA cooperative investigation was immediately initiated by the police department and the Toms River Schools Superintendent\u2019s Office,\u201d said Stocco. \u201cA 15-year-old student was identified and subsequently located.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The student responsible for the post was taken into custody by law enforcement and is being detained, Stocco said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe will not be returning to school until the conclusion of a comprehensive evaluation by the appropriate professionals,\u201d said Stocco.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation determined that the threats were not credible.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><div class=\"fb-share-button fcbkbttn_large_button \" data-href=\"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/tomsriver\/2018\/03\/toms-river-student-suspended-over-social-media-post-threat-deemed-not-credible\/\" data-type=\"button_count\" data-size=\"large\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Toms River Regional student from one of the district\u2019s high schools has been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation after a threat of some kind was apparently posted on the social media platform Instagram.
