(Photo: TRPD)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Toms River police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred after midnight July 5.<\/p>\n<p>According to police spokeswoman\u00a0Jillian Messina,\u00a0an unknown white male entered the Shell gas station located at Routes 9 and 571 and brandished\u00a0a handgun and demanded money from the clerk.<\/p>\n<p>The clerk complied with his demands and the suspect was able to leave with an undetermined amount of cash from the register, Messina said.
