(Photo: NJ Fish and Wildlife)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A Toms River man made his way into the state record books this week after the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife formally declared he nabbed the biggest winter flounder every caught in Garden State waters.<\/p>\n<p>Jim Oriscak, of Toms River, caught the record-setting bottom fish while spearfishing. Oriscak was free diving off the shore of the Shark River &#8220;back bay&#8221; area in Monmouth County when he landed the 3 pound, 7 ounce fish.<\/p>\n<p>The new record winter flounder-spearfishing measured 18.75 inches and had a 16.5 inch girth.
