(Credit: Google Maps)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The South Toms River planning board has granted approval to the developer of a major residential and commercial project that will consist of 360 housing units, a 100-room hotel and acres of commercial property.<\/p>\n<p>The development firm, <span id=\"ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_PublicNoticeDetailsBody1_lblContentText\">M&T at STR Urban Renewal, LLC<\/span>, owned at least partially by developer Jack Morris, received permission just before the Christmas holiday to build the <span id=\"ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_PublicNoticeDetailsBody1_lblContentText\">360 multi-family residential units, a 100 room extended stay hotel, a 6,000 square foot \u201cclubhouse\/lobby\/leasing center\u201d and two 4,200 square foot retail pads. The complex would be located between Chamberlain Street and Railroad Avenue near Dover Road. Its approximate address would be 379 Dover Road, according to tax records, where a Wawa convenience store and gas station is located.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The plot of land was owned by Jersey Central Power & Light before being purchased by M&T. It is located within a legally-declared area in need of redevelopment, a designation that allows a municipality to seek and appoint a developer to build on a blighted plot of land.
