Specifically, it was alleged that camp counse<span class=\"textexposedshow\">lors instructed the child to sit on black top and the child suffered burns to his hands as a result.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office Special Victim\u2019s Unit was notified on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, by the Toms River Police Department and the state Division of Child Permanency and Protection<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"textexposedshow\">\u201cThe allegation, facts and circumstances were subsequently reviewed by the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office Special Victim\u2019s Unit,\u201d the statement said. \u201cAt this time, this matter does not appear to be criminal in nature, as there was no criminal intent associated with the actions of the camp counselors.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"textexposedshow\">The matter has been referred back to the Division of Child Permanency & Protection\u2019s Institutional Abuse Unit for whatever action they deem appropriate, the prosecutor\u2019s office said.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><div class=\"fb-share-button fcbkbttn_large_button \" data-href=\"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/tomsriver\/2019\/07\/prosecutor-no-criminal-intent-behind-childs-injury-from-sitting-on-blacktop-at-summer-camp\/\" data-type=\"button_count\" data-size=\"large\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office on Wednesday said there was \u201cno criminal intent\u201d behind an injury allegedly sustained by a child at a Toms River Township recreation day camp.
