A car went airborne in Toms River Tuesday, taking out a fire hydrant and other items in its way before landing on another vehicle, police said.<\/p>\n

According to police, Pauline English, 51 of Bayville, was traveling north on Oak Ridge Parkway when her 2006 Hyundai Elantra left the roadway to the right at about 3:35 p.m. Her vehicle struck the curb, a fire hydrant, street sign, then traveled across Sun Valley Road. The Hyundai then struck a curb and vaulted into the air, overturned and landed on top of a 2000 Jaguar parked behind the fence on the property at the corner of Sun Valley Road and Oak Ridge Parkway.<\/p>\n

English sustained a laceration to the top of her head and was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by Silverton Volunteer EMS ambulance as a precaution, according to police spokeswoman Jillian Messina.<\/p>\n

English was cited for careless driving and driving with an expired license.\u00a0 The accident is being investigated by Toms River Traffic Safety David Bartoshek.<\/p>\n
