A Toms River man was involved in two separate accidents over the course of two days, and has been charged with driving while intoxicated during each incident, police said.<\/p>\n

Samual Kovacsy, 42, had his first encounter with police Feb. 6 at 11:54 a.m., when he was traveling eastbound on Mount Lane approaching the intersection of Vincent Street. Police say he failed to stop for the stop sign and continued traveling straight across Vincent Street, striking bricks that were lining a property before hitting a tree and coming to rest.<\/p>\n

Kovacsy was arrested for DWI and issued summons for reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, failing to stop for a posted stop sign, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, along with additional summonses.<\/p>\n

On Feb. 8 at 12:33 p.m., another incident led to yet another charge, said police spokeswoman Jillian Messina. Officers were called to the intersection of Hooper Avenue and Church Road for reports of a motor vehicle accident, which again involved Kovacsy.<\/p>\n

According to Messina, Kovacsy was traveling westbound on Kettle Creek Road crossing Hooper Avenue. As his vehicle approached Silverton Funeral Home, he ran off the road striking a curb, a speed limit sign, the entrance sign to the funeral home, a parked vehicle, and then coming to rest after hitting a tree on the property.<\/p>\n

Kovacsy was arrested for driving while intoxicated and issued summons for reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, along with additional summonses.<\/p>\n
