Members of the Toms River Police Department\u2019s elite Special Enforcement Team were conducting surveillance on the east end of the township Tuesday when \u201csuspicious activity\u201d led to two traffic stops that yielded drugs and cash, police said.<\/p>\n

The first motor vehicle stop and the investigation that followed led to the arrest of Jameer Jones, 26 of Toms River. Jones was found to be in possession of approximately 202 grams of cocaine and packaging material, said police spokeswoman Jillian Messina. The second motor vehicle stop, which was related to the first stop, led to the arrest of Gregory Deas, 47 of Asbury Park. Deas was found to be in possession of $33,703 in cash.<\/p>\n

Jones was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine over 5 ounces with the intent to distribute, a first degree crime, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deas was charged with obstructing the administration of law, resisting arrest, possession of cocaine and distribution of over 5 ounces of cocaine.<\/p>\n

Both suspects were lodged in the Ocean County Jail Thursday morning.<\/p>\n
