Prosecutors had sought eight years of incarceration\u00a0because of the fact that Fischer\u00a0placed the victims in danger of death or bodily injury, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>The arson\u00a0occurred on Tuesday, Sept.\u00a06, 2016, at approximately 12:24 am, when the Toms River Police Department and Pleasant Plains Fire Department were dispatched for a structure fire at a Camino Roble address in Toms River.\u00a0 Emergency personnel arrived and discovered\u00a0a fire in the rear of the structure. First responders found the homeowner had used a fire extinguisher to put out an additional fire at the front door.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation by the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention, Toms River Police Department, Ocean County Prosecutors Office Arson Unit, Ocean County Sheriff\u2019s Department Crime Scene Investigations and Ocean County Fire Marshal\u2019s Office K-9 would ultimately lead to the arrest of Fischer later that day, Sept. 6, after investigators found the fire to be set intentionally.\u00a0 John Fischer V\u00a0was charged with aggravated arson\u00a0and bail at the time was set at $75,000 cash.<\/p>\n<p>The motive for his crime was not released.\u00a0Fischer must serve more than 5 years and 11 months before he can be considered for release under parole supervision<\/p>\n<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><div class=\"fb-share-button fcbkbttn_large_button \" data-href=\"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/tomsriver\/2017\/02\/toms-river-man-gets-7-years-for-setting-house-fire\/\" data-type=\"button_count\" data-size=\"large\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Toms River man will spend seven years in prison for arson after intentionally setting a fire at a township home.
