(Credit: Google Maps)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>More details have emerged about a shooting that occurred Sunday in Toms River.<\/p>\n<p>According to a joint statement from the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office and Toms RIver police, officers were called to Community Medical Center at 8:30 p.m. for a report of a man who had been shot in the head. The victim was identified as Javon Cutler, 19, of Bayville.<\/p>\n<p>The ensuring investigation revealed that at approximately 8:15 p.m., Cutler and two friends were leaving the Toms River Apartments, located on Main Street in Toms River, when an unknown individual opened fire on the their vehicle. Cutler, who was seated in the rear passenger seat, was struck in the head as a result.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the vehicle drove directly to Community Medical Center, the statement said.\u00a0 Cutler was subsequently transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center, where he is currently listed in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said jointly that the case remains an \u201cactive and ongoing investigation, and that there is no known danger to the public at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who has any information concerning the investigation is being urged to contact Detective Denis Mitchell of the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office at 732-929-2027, or Detective Jennifer Grob of the Toms River Township Police Department at 732-349-0150.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation is being conducted by the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office Major Crime Unit, Toms River Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff\u2019s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><div class=\"fb-share-button fcbkbttn_large_button \" data-href=\"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/tomsriver\/2020\/10\/cops-teen-shot-in-car-outside-toms-river-apartments-condition-still-critical\/\" data-type=\"button_count\" data-size=\"large\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More details have emerged about a shooting that occurred Sunday in Toms River.
