A developer has proposed a new office building along Route 9 in Toms River, filings with the township\u2019s planning board said.<\/p>\n

The office building is planned for the east side of Route 9 between Riverwood Drive and Silverton Road. The site, located at 1879 Lakewood Road, is currently undeveloped.<\/p>\n

According to the planning board filing, 1879 Lakewood Road BSSL LLC is asking for approval to construct a one-story 8,280 square foot commercial office building and related site improvements including parking, lighting, landscaping, stormwater management, driveway and a circulation path.<\/span><\/p>\n

The office building conforms to the zone, however one routine \u201cbulk\u201d variance is required before approval. Under Toms River ordinances, a 43,560 square foot lot is required, while the existing lot measures 43,162 square feet, just below the threshold.<\/span><\/p>\n

The matter will be heard at the Dec. 16 meeting of the planning board, which begins at 6 p.m. at the township municipal building. Documents related to the application can be accessed before the meeting at town hall.<\/p>\n
