HomeSense, a Canadian chain of discount home furnishing stores, will open its first local retail site at the Ocean County Mall complex this week, the mall\u2019s management announced.<\/p>\n

HomeSense will open its 28,000 square foot location Thursday in the northern portion of the mall property, between LA Fitness and Ulta Beauty Supply. That portion is newly-built on what was once a parking lot outside of the now-demolished Sears store. It is not located within the main mall building.<\/p>\n

In recent years, HomeSense has gained a loyal following in its home country, plus the U.K. and Ireland, and it is now expanding its U.S. operation. The chain already operates about a dozen stores in New Jersey, including two in Monmouth County.<\/p>\n

In the United States market, HomeSense is designed to compliment Home Goods stores, which are owned by the same parent company. It offers a larger selection of furniture, art, and lighting as compared to HomeGoods stores, as well as fixtures.<\/p>\n

The Toms River location will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. for its grand opening Feb. 18, 2021.<\/p>\n
