Detectives in Toms River and with the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office are investigating a suspected homicide that was the result of multiple gunshot wounds to a local man.<\/p>\n

The victim \u2013 identified as Jimmy Mosley, 36, of South Toms River \u2013 succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at Community Medical Center after he was dropped off at the hospital in a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle then left the scene. A passenger in the vehicle also left the scene on foot, according to a statement from the prosecutor\u2019s office. Police were called to the hospital at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The statement described the current status of the probe into the slaying as an \u201cactive and ongoing investigation\u201d by the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office Major Crime Unit, Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office High Tech Crime Unit, Toms River Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff\u2019s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.<\/p>\n

However, \u201cThere is no known danger to the public at this time,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
