Skies cleared just long enough for a few local residents to enjoy an couple of hours outdoors before sunset \u2013 which was marked by a unique silver tinge to the orange and pink hues that normally characterize the end of a cloudy day on Barnegat Bay.<\/p>\n
Monday\u2019s weather began with a severe thunderstorm early, with skies remaining mostly cloudy through the day. By about 5 p.m., the clouds moved out, ushering in a spectacular sunset (as seen above), but forecasters with the National Weather Service prepared Shore residents for a gloomy week ahead.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, the NWS forecast said, the day will begin with patchy fog before 10 a.m., after which the fog will list. Still, the day will remain mostly cloudy with a high of just 55 degrees. There will be a chance of showers Tuesday night into Wednesday, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 3 a.m. The low will be around 50. East wind 10 to 15 m.p.h.<\/p>\n
During the day Wednesday, there is the chance of more showers and a scattered thunderstorm. There is an 80 percent chance of rain with a high near 62 degrees. Wednesday night, there will be a slight chance of showers before 2 a.m., giving way to cloudy skies.<\/p>\n
Sun will return Thursday, with a high near 60, but forecasters are watching another rain system that is expected to move in Friday and and linger completely through next weekend.<\/p>\n
