An overnight shooting left three people shot \u2013 one of whom later died \u2013 in Toms River, authorities said Saturday.<\/p>\n

According to a statement from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, officers were dispatched at about 1:20 a.m. Saturday to the area of 1723 Hooper Avenue for a report of gunshots fired. It was not divulged under what circumstances authorities were notified.<\/p>\n

Responding officers found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. A 29 year-old man was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River and was pronounced deceased. The two other victims were transported to a hospital in Monmouth County for medical attention. A second 29-year-old male victim is currently in critical but stable condition. The third man, a 25-year-old, was treated for his wounds and released.<\/p>\n

The identities of the victims were not released. The shooting reportedly occurred at the Top Tier Hookah Lounge, located in a shopping center off Hooper Avenue in the Silverton section.<\/p>\n

Toms River Police Chief Mitch Little and Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer issued a joint statement on the incident, saying it is an “active and ongoing investigation” by the two law enforcement agencies, plus the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.<\/p>\n

“There is no known danger to the public at this time,” the statement said.<\/p>\n
