Thursday night produced a dark thought \u2013 literally \u2013 at the Jersey Shore, as sunset occurred at 6 p.m. on the dot. Beginning Friday, the sun’s last rays of the day will shine in the 5 p.m. hour for the first time: at 5:59 p.m. We caught Thursday’s sunset and put together some of our favorite shots in the video embedded above.<\/p>\n
The weekend will also bring in chillier temperatures after a mild week. According to the National Weather Service, Friday<\/strong>‘s high temperature will be just 57 degrees, with the day beginning with sunshine and ending with gradually increasing clouds. The overnight low will be a chilly 47 degrees. On Saturday<\/strong>, mostly sunny skies will be combined with a high temperature of 59 degrees. Sunny skies will continue Sunday<\/strong>, though clouds will begin to roll in during the afternoon. The high will be a few degrees warmer at 63.<\/p>\n The NWS has also issued a Coastal Flood Watch<\/strong> for the region, which will only run for one tide cycle on Friday. The watch is valid from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. Some roads may flood at times of high tide. High tide at the Mantoloking Bridge in Barnegat Bay will occur at 2:48 p.m.<\/p>\n
