Authorities confirmed a man died in a fire that consumed a mobile home unit in Toms River on Thursday.<\/p>\n

After receiving a 911 call at 3 p.m. about a fire at the Roberts Mobile Home Park, located at 2250 Route 9, police arrived to find one of the units \u201cfully engulfed,\u201d Toms River police said at the time. A neighbor told police he believed a resident was inside, but was unsure; officers tried to make entry but were brushed back by the flames.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office confirmed that during the primary search of the residence after the fire was extinguished, the body of a deceased male was discovered. The man\u2019s body was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River for a post-mortem examination and identification, the prosecutor\u2019s office said. The victim\u2019s name was not available.<\/p>\n

Also, officials said, during the suppression of the fire, a firefighter was treated for a minor injury at Community Medical Center and released.<\/p>\n

The origin and cause of the fire are currently under investigation by the prosecutor\u2019s office, county sheriff\u2019s department, local police and the township\u2019s fire bureau, as well as the Ocean County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
