Shore area residents will once again largely avoid accumulating snow, but a wintry mix could lead to slick roads overnight between Monday and Tuesday, forecasters warned.<\/p>\n
Though there were no advisories or watches posted, the National Weather Service forecasts a sunny day Monday followed by the onslaught of a storm system overnight. On Monday night, rain is likely, possibly mixed with snow between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., then mixed with snow and sleet after 4 a.m. The low will be around 35 degrees, with a west wind 5 to 10 m.p.h., becoming north after midnight. Little or no snow and sleet accumulation is expected.<\/p>\n
A slight chance of rain and sleet will remain before 7 a.m. Tuesday, then a slight chance of rain between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., the NWS forecast said. It will be cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 45. Winds will be breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 m.p.h., with gusts as high as 35 m.p.h.<\/p>\n
The clouds will move out during the day Tuesday, leading to a clear night. On Wednesday, the forecast calls for sunny, with a high near 44 degrees and still breezy. Temperatures will dip below freezing Wednesday night by a few degrees, and highs the remainder of the week are unlikely to break the mid-40s, though no more wintry weather is expected.<\/p>\n
