Authorities have confirmed a body found in Toms River on Thursday was that of a man who had been missing for several days.<\/p>\n

The body of John “Bubby” Applegate, 32, of Beachwood, was discovered in an area of water between Lakehurst Road and Route 37 in Toms River, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Applegate had been missing since March 24, 2023; his body was located by a family friend who had volunteered to assist with the search, according to the statement. Applegate was transported to Community Medical Center, where his body will undergo a post-mortem examination.<\/p>\n

Authorities previously said Applegate was last seen in the area between Community Medical Center and the Garden State Parkway in Toms River.<\/p>\n
