Both mainland and island neighborhoods of Toms River have been affected by automotive burglars and thieves over the past week, with the most recent incident having played out of the last 48 hours.<\/p>\n

During those hours, unknown suspects cut the catalytic converters from six vehicles on Colonial Drive, Curtis Place, Morristown Drive, Ivan Court and Hilltop Drive, according to s statement from police. The victim vehicles included: a Kia Soul, Kia Sorento, Kia Sportage, two Volkswagen Jettas and a Honda Accord<\/p>\n

Police said the only surveillance footage available was a low-quality photo that depicts a white SUV which is believed to be a suspect vehicle.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information pertaining to the theft investigations may contact Detective Bucci at 732-349-0150, extension 1300.<\/p>\n

Ortley Auto Burglaries<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police are also still investigating a string of auto burglaries that have recently taken place in Ortley Beach. According to the Ortley Beach Voters and Taxpayers Association, police told residents of the barrier island neighborhood of 12 vehicles that were affected between Feb. 22 and 24.<\/p>\n

  • Installing an anti-theft device.<\/li>\n
  • Installing motion-sensitive lights and cameras in your parking area.<\/li>\n
