Organizers have postponed the highly anticipated charity Tug of War event between Seaside Heights and Seaside Park due to a high risk of rain and unfavorable weather conditions, it was announced Friday.
The “Seaside Heights vs. Park Tug of War,” a new fundraiser to benefit the fire departments in both towns as well as Tri-Boro EMS, was scheduled for this weekend but has been officially delayed. A colorful announcement shared on social media announced the postponement Friday afternoon. Organizers encouraged the community to stay tuned to local social media channels (including Shorebeat) for the announcement of a new date which is forthcoming.
Despite the postponement, event leaders highlighted a silver lining: supporters now have additional time to contribute to the cause. Proceeds from the event directly benefit the Seaside Heights Fire Department, Seaside Park Fire Department, and the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad.
Sponsors include Jersey Mike’s Subs, Seaside Heights, United Mortgage Corp, High Noon, and others. More information can be found at exit82.com/event.
