The Seaside Heights borough council has approved the solicitation of bids for a two-phase restriping and roadway improvement project on Ocean Terrace and connecting streets,the second of which is aimed for construction after the summer season.
Sealed bids for the Ocean Terrace Re-striping project will be received until 11 a.m. Friday, July 10. The project includes two phases:
The first phase covers cross streets east of Ocean Terrace that terminate at the boardwalk. Work includes the removal of existing parking striping and stop bars, new layout and striping, concrete curb and sidewalk removal, handicap ramp construction, road gutter reconstruction, new signage and traffic management. The phase must be completed within 20 consecutive calendar days of the notice to proceed, according to a notice associated with the bid solicitation.
Phase two covers Ocean Terrace from Porter Avenue to Heiring Avenue, plus Grant Avenue from Ocean Terrace to the Boulevard. It includes similar work: removal and replacement of parking and crosswalk striping, curb and sidewalk improvements, handicap ramps, gutter reconstruction, signage and traffic control. This phase is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 14, and must be completed within 30 consecutive calendar days of the start date, according to the notice.
