Six Flags Great Adventure may be down one roller coaster after last week’s demolition of the mighty Kingda Ka, but they’re up one very cute giraffe who has already overcome some early-in-life challenges.

The theme park’s staff announced the arrival of the giraffe calf Wednesday night, though she was born Dec. 15, 2024. Named Coral, she is described by staff as a healthy female who is now nearly three months old. Her parents, Conan (father) and Mariah (mother), are both resident giraffes at the park’s Wild Safari attraction.
“Though Coral faced some early challenges – difficulty standing – she has overcome them with the support of the dedicated team at Wild Safari,” the park said in a statement.

Currently housed in one of the park’s giraffe barns, preparations are underway to reintroduce Coral back to the herd in time for the park’s opening day of the 2025 season, which is scheduled for March 29.
