Seaside Park Police Blotter: A Friendly Push, 65mph on Central, Reuniting Family

Seaside Park police have released their weekly blotter, featuring descriptions of a number of calls to which the department responded recently. The total number of calls handled over the last week was 93. The blotter appears as follows:

Community Policing – While on patrol in the area of J Street and Central Officers observed a disabled vehicle. Police spoke to the motorist and helped them push their vehicle off the roadway and parked safely for them to make arrangements.

First Aid – Police and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded to the assist a victim who had fallen and became unconscious as a result. Officers and EMS arrived and began to render aid. The subject was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment.

Alarm – Police were dispatched to a burglar alarm activation on the ocean block of 2nd Avenue. Officers arrived and began to check the residence. They did not observe and signs of forced entry or anything suspicious. All doors and windows were found to be secure, and it was determined that the alarm was set off in error.

Traffic Enforcement – While on patrol, officers observed a vehicle traveling south on Central Avenue at approximately 65 miles per hour as well as weaving in and out of traffic. Officers initiated a motor vehicle stop and made contact with the female driver. She was issued a traffic summons for careless driving.

Community Policing – Police responded to the area of 1st and Central Avenue for a caller who stated she did not feel comfortable with the male she was currently with and could not contact anyone for a ride home. Officers arrived and checked on the female who was fine and just needed a safe ride home. Officers provided her a ride back to her residence.

Disturbance – Police were dispatched to the area of G Street and Central Avenue for a disturbance at a residence. Officers arrived and spoke to the male and female who were involved in the altercation. There was a heated exchange that occurred over personal matters and the male wanted the female to leave the property where she was no longer welcome. Police stood by while she left the property without incident.

Agency Assist – While on patrol in the area of Decatur Avenue and Central Officers observed a vehicle that a neighboring agency was looking for. The driver was an elderly male who had been disoriented and had been missing since early that morning. Officers stopped the vehicle and confirmed it was the vehicle they were looking for. The male was fine and the agency that was looking for him sent a car over and reunited him with his family in their jurisdiction.
