Ortley Beach singer Tony Corrao will take audiences back to the Big Band Era with a free performance of swing standards and Sinatra classics next week at the Upper Shores library in Lavallette.
Corrao, who blends classical appeal with modern flair, will use his voice and stage presence to evoke an “era of sophistication and style,” an announcement said. He was selected as a cast member for the Count Basie Theatre’s Sinatra Birthday Bash in 2012 and won first place in the Sinatra Idol competition in Hoboken in 2015.
The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Upper Shores Branch, a volunteer group that supports library activities, fundraisers and community events. Registration is required. The program is schedule for 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, at the Upper Shores Branch of the Ocean County Library, 112 Jersey City Avenue, Lavallette.
