Authorities said on Tuesday that they doubt foul play was involved in the case of a body found floating in the Toms River.
According to a statement from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, the body was found April 25, 2025, when officers from the Toms River Township Police Department were dispatched to an area behind Point O’ Woods Drive for a report of a body floating in the water.
Responding Officers located a deceased male, later identified as Julian Lopez-Martinez, 45, of Lakewood, and proceeded to remove his body from the water. A postmortem examination conducted by the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office “observed no signs of trauma to the body,” the statement said.
“The cause of death is pending toxicology results,” said Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer. “The death of Mr. Lopez-Martinez does not appear to be suspicious at this time.”
